Privacy Policy

This policy is a working draft. It has been prepared to close the gap identified in NFEIs' platform audit (no privacy policy existed at all) and accurately describes what the current site does. It is pending review by qualified legal counsel before being treated as final, particularly regarding Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and, for international donors, GDPR compliance obligations. Do not rely on this draft as legal advice.

What we collect

Depending on which form you use on this site, we may collect:

Your name and email address, when you join the HeartilyS waitlist or contact us.
The content of a prayer or support request, if you submit one through PII.
Basic technical information (browser type, approximate location from IP) collected automatically by standard web hosting infrastructure.

How we use it

To respond to your request, including matching prayer requests with an intercessor.
To notify you when HeartilyS becomes available, if you joined the waitlist.
To improve our programmes – only in aggregate, never by singling out your submission without consent.

Who can see it

Prayer requests are shared only with the intercessor assigned to your request, unless you indicate you're comfortable with broader sharing. We do not sell personal information to third parties, ever.

Third-party services

This site currently uses Google Fonts to load typography, which involves a request to Google's servers. Form submissions (intake forms and prayer requests) are sent directly to our Firebase-backed system with server-side validation and stored in our Firestore database; no third-party form service is used to process them.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing connect@nfeis.org. We will confirm receipt within 5 business days.

Data retention

We retain prayer requests and contact information only as long as needed to provide the support requested, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. A formal retention schedule is being finalised alongside our Firebase migration (Phase 7 of our engineering roadmap).
